The first in a series of murder mysteries featuring Jackie Garcia Nelson and Maggie Sullivan.
The two friends set out on a yearlong of adventures with a "fun list" in hand. The plan was hatched to cheer Jackie up after her retirement from her law firm. But their first adventure could be their last when they stumble onto a murder and try to solve it to absolve Jackie's new client from murder charges.
They quickly learn there's an undercurrent in Fort Worth that they never knew about, and that some games are for keeps.
